Hearty greetings from Pragati of Dayton! We are proud to be hosting the Tri State Durga Puja. As our organization prepares for the fun and food we want to reach out to let you know the details for our annual grand festivity. The 2026 puja will be held on October 16–18, 2026. We hope you and your family will join us for this celebration.
About Tri State Durga Puja
Durga puja is an autumn festival celebrated by Bengalis all over the world. In 1985, the residents of the Tri-State region of Southwestern Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana started jointly celebrating Durga Puja in this region. The 1985 and 1986 events were held in private homes in Kentucky and Indiana. In 1987, the event was held publicly in Dayton, where the name ‘Tri-State Durga Puja’ was officially adopted and in 1990, it was held for the first time in Cincinnati.
The event serves as an annual meeting place for about 1000 people bound by emotion and nostalgia for the cultural traditions of the country of origin of their forefathers, and is a testament to the continuing cooperation and friendship between them.
Saturday Night
We are thrilled to welcome celebrated Bengali vocalist Arnab Chakraborty as our Saturday night headliner. A deeply versatile singer with a voice that effortlessly moves between the timeless poetry of Rabindra Sangeet, the soulful depth of Nazrul Geeti, and the vibrant energy of modern Bengali film and adhunik songs, Arnab has won the hearts of audiences across West Bengal and the Bengali diaspora worldwide. He rose to national prominence through his acclaimed performances on leading television music platforms and has since graced countless prestigious stages at home and abroad. Known for his emotive phrasing, impeccable classical grounding, and warm stage presence, Arnab promises an unforgettable evening that will resonate with every generation in the audience.
Sunday Afternoon
Our Sunday afternoon stage comes alive with a truly special family performance by acclaimed vocalist Raghab Chatterjee and his daughters. Raghab Chatterjee is one of Bengal’s most beloved singers, celebrated for his soulful renditions spanning Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, adhunik Bengali songs, and evergreen film classics. With a voice that carries both warmth and nuance, he has captivated audiences across India and the global Bengali community for decades. Sharing the stage with him, his daughters bring their own musical sensibility and youthful energy, creating a rare and heartwarming multi-generational musical experience. This intimate family concert is set to be a highlight of TSDP 2026 — an afternoon of melody, emotion, and togetherness perfectly in the spirit of Durga Puja.
Registration
Tri State Durga Puja is a non-profit organization and its success depends on contributions from our community members. Register before September 1st to take advantage of the Early Bird Price. Online registration closes on September 30th. Standard family registration includes two adults (parents) and dependent children up to age 24.
